Fun with Windows Active Desktop

Put a fake Icon on someone's Windows Desktop, and watch them go crazy trying to figure out how it got there and how to delete it.

1. Right-click on one of the following images (or any other image):

Icon Icon Icon Icon Icon Icon
Icon Icon Icon Icon Icon Icon
Icon Icon Icon Icon Icon Icon
Icon Icon Icon Icon Icon Icon

2. Next select "Set as Desktop Item..." (as shown below)

Visual Aid

3. Follow the prompts. Be sure that "Make Available Offline" is checked (as shown below) or it will disappear when they sign off:

Visual Aid

4. Finally position it by clicking on the top border and dragging. If you have Windows 2000 or XP, right-click an empty space on the desktop and make sure "Lock Desktop Items" is checked (as shown below) or they will see the border (below right) when they mouse over the image:

Windows 2000:

Windows XP:

For extra fun, you can uncheck "Show Desktop Icons" in the Active Desktop menu.

I may be creating more desktop items. You can email me with suggestions or your own creations and I will post them here with proper credits. (please use "BrainVacation.com" in the subject)
